Sheriff’s Office cooks burgers at Buddy Camp

The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office cooked hamburgers for “Buddy Camp” on June 9 at the First United Methodist Church Alexandria.

Buddy Camp is one of the most unique community wide projects in the state that allows children ages 5 through 11, both with and without developmental challenges, to participate in a week long summer day camp program.

The goal is to bring together children of all abilities by placing them in Buddy Pairs, where the same two buddies will share quality, structured camp activities throughout the week as they learn more about each other and develop friendships, healthy behaviors, and Christian attitudes.
