Funeral services for Jo Ann McDaniel will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 13, 2023 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Alexandria. Burial will follow in Flatwoods Cemetery, Flatwoods, LA.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, June 12, 2023 at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Alexandria and from 9:00 AM until shortly before time of services in the funeral home on Tuesday.
Jo Ann McDaniel, 83, passed away on June 9, 2023, in The Summit Retirement Center, Alexandria, LA.
She retired from JC Penny with over 35 years of service. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved family gatherings and cooking for her family.
Jo Ann is survived by one daughter, Cynthia McDaniel (Billy), one son, Rickey McDaniel (Wanda), one brother, Van D. Rachal; three grandchildren, Brandi Evans (Buck), Megan Filasek, and Mary Ann Filasek; and six great-grandchildren, Lane Evans, Kennedi Evans, Brooklyn Chase, Jordan Chase, Heidi Stanley, and Hannah Stanley.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dempsey Rachal and Myrtie Edwards Rachal; one son, Perry McDaniel; and one brother, Phillip Davis; and two sisters, Jean Boumard and Maxine Davis.
Pallbearers will be Buck Evans, Lane Evans, Billy Dauzat, and Sam Brocato, Jr.
